Get to Know Julianne (She/Her)
Julianne grew up among the rolling green hills of southern Ohio. After college, she packed her car and moved to the mountains of Western Colorado to work in youth ministry. The mountains and Aspen groves of Colorado will always feel like home to her, even though she only stayed for a few years.
Julianne earned her MDiv from Regent College in Vancouver, BC, where she discovered that God is so much bigger than she ever imagined. She met Jon on her first day of new student orientation but doesn’t actually remember. They got married after their third year of school and spent their first year of marriage as broke grad school students in a tiny Vancouver basement suite.
Since then, Julianne has spent years working in campus ministry, leading and speaking at retreats, and saying yes to all most of the adventures Jon creates. She is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA).
After stepping away from campus ministry to spend more time with her kids, Julianne completed a two-year program to become a spiritual director. She now has her own direction practice and serves on the leadership team of The Studion School for Spiritual Direction where she helps train others who wish to become directors.
She loves to write, be outside, and float down the North Saskatchewan on her SUP. You can read some of her writing here: The Mudroom Blog, Iola Magazine, Faithit.com, KindredMom.com
